C.J. joined CBS Radio in 1995 and KILT in 1998. A proud native Texan, he's worked in both Houston and his hometown of Lufkin. Outside of the Lone Star state, C.J. has lived and/or worked in New York City, Boston, Las Vegas and Philadelphia.
In over two decades of radio, C.J. has played practically every kind of music, including country, rock, pop, big band and classical. He says that those experiences helped to shape his musical taste, which he describes as "all over the road and a bit eclectic. I like pretty much anything besides extreme hard rock and hardcore rap." When asked about waking up at 3am each morning, C.J. says he really doesn't mind - mainly because "there's not much traffic at that time of the morning! Also, I get to come to work and laugh and have fun - I'm very lucky to have a job like that.”
C.J. spent eight seasons from 1996 to 2004 as the public address announcer for the Houston Aeros hockey team - and has two championship rings to prove it. He's also a huge Astros fan and enjoys other sports like football and NASCAR. For entertainment outside of sports, C.J. enjoys all kinds of movies and TV shows, including 24, Survivor, Lost, ER, CSI, and The Amazing Race. C.J. and his wife Jennifer live in Sugar Land.
